Just now on the news I heard today was the coldest June 3rd in The Netherlands since 1975, and the temperature was the same as we had this Christmas
That said, I just checked our national weather archive: 1975 was quite a good summer, right into late September. Who knows, history may well repeat itself.... :stew1:

Fingers crossed that it's so! We had 2°C during the night a few days ago, and daytime temps of max 6°C. :( Today we've had all of 11°C, and it was delightful. :D

1975 was a good year anyway.
    I was born in '75!
Been looking for a t-shirt with that year...no luck so far :)

Droopy, is that normal in Norway this time of year, or are you also experiencing unusual temps?

Stratsmom, snow?? Oh no, your poor plants , I really hope they all survive this cold spell!
I know just what you mean by running around covering your plants. It's exactly what I do when lots of rain is forecast, I move all "water-hating" plants under cover. (That's a small space by the gate, so now no one can get in. Or out..... :lol

Calin, yes, the 70's were happy days indeed! :stew1:

No, GE, it's not quite normal, but not quite unusual either. :D Weather's always sort of funny where I live. One winter we had nearly no snow at all, and the next winter we had so much we didn't know where to put it all. :D Our house almost disappeared behind the big heaps of snow we shovelled off the roof...

We've also had heavy snowfalls in June, and 18°C on Christmas Eve. :D

Take away a couple of shovel loads of snow, Droopy, and it sounds just like The Netherlands (or at least the way things have been the past 2 years) :D
From what I've read here on the forum, it seems that nearly all of us have had strange weather conditions to deal with recently, but I think it makes us better gardeners in the end :stew1:

Not cold here, thought this might cheer you all up. Had an outing last week for wildflowers.

Wow, what a beautiful view! Thanks, Kildale, brought a big smile to my face, and I'm sure I'm not the only one :-D
