I suffer from glaucoma and every three years I have to go for a DVLA eye test to determine whether I am still fit to drive. Well, today's the day, so wish me luck I don't know what I would do if I couldn't drive my car. I so enjoy it and would be absolutely lost without it :'( Plus I would miss our girlie shopping trips I go on with my daughter
Good luck, GG. Just do your best. Dont forget to take your meds before you go so that your eyes can perform to the best of their ability. Let us know how it goes now, OK?
I have everything tightly crossed for you Gardengirl. I know that we'd been completely at a loss without our car as the public transport system here is dreadful. Good luck!!
Good Luck GG. Hope the meds are freshly working and you are relaxed as much as possible during the test and pass with flying colors.
Well, I went for the test and it wasn't too bad, although one eye is a bit weak but I hope that the other compensates. I now have to wait until the DVLA assess the results and let me know if I can keep my licence. Thanks for all the good wishes, but keep everything crossed, will let you know when I hear.
Oh I'll be thinking of you, too! When I went for my first license renewal after the incident that left me half blind in both eyes I was terrified that they would pull my license. But just when they got to the part of the test that I couldn't do, she just said "ok, you're fine"! I'm wishing for a feeling like that for you!!
Thanks everyone. I will probably have to wait a bit longer because of the Christmas holiday. My licence is due to run out next February. I don't know why they make you take the test so soon in advance, it gives you longer to worry about it. So sorry to hear you have a problem with both your eyes CritterPainter but very pleased they didn't pull your licence
Everything is crossed for you here too Gardengirl. How I'm going to cook the Christmas dinner with crossed eyes and crossed fingers I don't know though!!! I hope the DVLA get their finger out and let you know post haste as there's nothing worse than sitting waiting for something like this.
