I've been moving hostas and other stuff about. My husband made me a boat-shaped border and asked me nicely to fill it up with hostas and other lovelies. I'm doing my best. I've put in "Chinese Sunrise" to the east, and "So Sweet" which isn't sweet at all right now: To the west is "Hydon Sunset", and also "Great Expectations". A Hebe is placed near to the conifer: When I moved "Sultana" she fell apart: As did "Cherry Berry": And "Great Expectations": This is a big one, an "Aureomarginata" something-or-other: As you can see, I've got plenty to share, if I only could! I'm not moving "Fire and Ice" or "Wide Brim". They're still looking great: The Epimedium has started it's autumn colour show: The Colchicums are still heavily at it: And look at the Althaea. I'm very pleased, it was planted this spring. I wonder which colours the other ones are: The Lilium regale looks horrible this year, but the scent is divine: One of the small grasses. I think it looks like a wig: The Cimicifuga racemosa "Atropurpurea" is blooming now. It's tall and stately, and loved by bees and butterflies. The latter fluttered away when I approached, of course : The supervisor. Lord is very particular when it comes to which plants where. He needs somewhere to lie in ambush and attack me while I weed: I've still got a bit to move and a bit to plant, but I can't do more today. It's dark outside now.
Wish I was there too, I could help in a supervisory sort of way. I would hold your tea mug and mine of course, while you worked and would help make sure everything was properly spaced. :-D Lovely looking new bed, bet hubby didn't have to twist your arm too much to get you to plant those pretties.
Thank you toni. A mug holder would be perfect! And you're right, I'm not difficult to ask when it comes to filling up empty space.
I could help too perhaps, I could fetch your supervisor bowls of milks to keep him happy I hope your hostas are happy in their new home Droopy.
I suggest you go fishing, Frank. My supervisor isn't very fond of milk. We'll see how the hostas are liking their new home next year. Plants are slow things.
I wish I were there too.I could have a few plants as I may not have any left after Ike.I wish I was anywhere out of reach of Ike.
I'd be happy to have you, glendann. You would probably have had to pay plenty of overweight on the plane. Please, please be safe, and tell Ike to play nicely around your home.
Thank you Droopy ,but I will have to ride it out.I sure hope toni and kuntrygal feeds my hummingbirds as the wind carries then by there homes. This is one big hurricane and it may be me flying with my hummers.
I wish I was there so I could pinch a little of off your hostas for my garden! I only have a few, I pinched those from my grandads garden, and they are such great foilage plants. I must get out in my garden and have a move about, and seeing your epimedium reminds me that one of my customers has a massive clump and I want to pinch a piece so I had better do it next visit.
Well if everyone else is going to be at your place Droopy then you'll need me for crowd control!! I could also weild a torch to let you plant more in that new bed even after dark.
Heyyy you guys....If we are all going to converge on Droopy's garden, I want to come too. I have a cunning plan: I'll just silently mingle and get lost in the crown and whilst un-noticed, pinch a few thiongs as well...I think I will start pinching seeds of that double hollyhock for starters...then some seeds of the Cimicifuga racemosa "Atropurpurea". No one will see me, they'll be focused on the Hostas. Perhaps I'll check the veggie patch for extra turnips as well. What would a cunning plan be withour a turnip, right?
I wanna come too! OK Sjoerd, I'll keep Droopy busy while you pinch some plants if you get me some too I really like that Fire and Ice Droopy. I wonder if I'll be able to find that here?
O.k. I've just walked in and I see all these people at your house. now that you have all this help-your job is about done, right? so whats left one might ask. This is where I come in-I'm on clean up duty. Once the clean up is all done then will your yard look perfect.
I can't come. I'm sorry but I don't swim or fly and there are no roads. Would you ship some my way, PLEASE? dooley
