Saw a Wooley Bear caterpiller yesterday that had just a little black on his nose and the rest was brown. Hopefully he was saying a mild winter for here! :-o

I've seen them like that too Capt! But doesn't a mild winter usually mean lots of snow?

The amount of black on them is supposed to be proportional to the amount of snow. Let's hope so!

Yikes Capt. Our woolbears have had a lot of black on them and just a little brown in the middle. I'm praying that this years snow fall will be half of what we got last year.
Last week the woolies where coming into our barn like crazy looking for a place to hibernate.

I havent seen many wooly bears this year yet. I thought it was how furry they that predicted the winter weather ? Oh well, I don't mind the cold and snow, but I have not yet gotten my firewood... :-?
