If anyone could point me in the ight direction I would be very grateful. On the rhs,in full sun. and a close up of the beautiful flowers Sadly, this isn't my garden but oh how I would like it to be.
What does the foliage look like? it is hard to tell from this far away. The flower doesn't really help me, it's too close. Can you get a picture of the foliage and one of a whole flower cluster?
Could it be a hydrangea? One of the hydrangeas that is more closely related to the wild form? Here is a website that identifies 4 of the most common types of hydrangeas: http://www.hydrangeashydrangeas.com/identify.html In it, there is a wildling relative of 'Annabelle' that has flowers something like the flowers in your photo.
Maybe an Oakleaf Hydrangea although I wouldn't know by the blooms as mine has never done that...... Barb in Pa.
Sadly not Carolyn, its in a National Trust garden in Devon which is about 100 or more miles from here.
