We had storms come through early this morning. We got 3 inches of rain in about 1 1/2 hrs. Lot's of local flash flooding. We had water come in the basement door, because the drain outside was just over whelmed with water!
Don't have a sump pump! We set on a hill and the only time I get water in there is when it rains that hard. Only the 3rd time in 30 years.
Wow! There is rain in our forecast for tomorrow, I just home it isn't the same system that brought you all this rain so quickly!
3rd time in 30 years, but are the 3 times evenly spaced within the 3 decades? Or were all the 3 times occurring in the last decade? I ask because the question of climate change is what's really on my mind. Every since I saw this amazing documentary: Chasing Ice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OX-CrqVE7-E I myself have seen the weather change (mostly for the worst) in the last 10 years, then the entire 30+ years that I have been around... This really is not the weather that my part of the world was accustomed to in the past: http://www.pmd.gov.pk/Subpage1/S_images ... image.html
Glad you got some nice rain, hopefully no damage is done in your basement. We have had some generous rains the past day or two, and they are sorely needed.
