There are several of us at school that used to work in the same room, or had kids growing up together where I work. The last few years as programs change and assignments change we see less and less of each other even though we work in the same building. We try to get together a few times a year away from work to visit and have fun and sometimes do a craft project. This last week we had scheduled a wreath making party after school. Wonder who suggested that? Those who had some sedums at home brought them in bags and I brought a few starts and picked up the moss and frames for everyone. We all chipped in and brought the little things like fishing line, gloves, panyhose and scissors. It was a fun evening and everyone had a nice wreath to go home with. Here's some of the results of our evening in the sun on a very nice fall evening. One person was held up at a meeting and didn't make it until dark, so no pics of her wreath. I only put the moss on mine for now. My moss wreathes ( photo / image / picture from Jewell2009's Garden ) Some of the wreaths made ( photo / image / picture from Jewell2009's Garden ) Kim's Wreath ( photo / image / picture from Jewell2009's Garden ) darn if I know who's wreath this is ( photo / image / picture from Jewell2009's Garden ) Our hostess's wreath ( photo / image / picture from Jewell2009's Garden ) The person who was drinking green tea's wreath ( photo / image / picture from Jewell2009's Garden ) It was a fun time and we all went out for burgers at the end to catch up each other. Pam wants to host a stainglass star making Christmas get together. Can't wait, but I'm getting too old to stay out playing and then get wound down in time to go to bed at a good hour. Hope its not on a work night next time but I'll go no matter what.
Well Jewell, that certainaly looks like a big success and then later a stained-glass get-together ...You sure do have some fun there. Those wreaths look smashing. Congrats.
That looks like a great evening, Jewell,a nd the wreats are so pretty. I like the long sedum -- makes the wreath look kind of wild and hairy. I'd love to do that with my school friends, but alas, it seems they mostly like to get together to drink adult beverages and complain... so I don't go. Can I come to your group instead?!
Wouldn't it be great if we could all get together and have a evening like your wreath making one? It's such a pity that we live so far apart. I'd have really enjoyed making a living wreath with you all.
Sjoerd, Daisybeans and Eileen, we need teleporters so that a get together would be easy. I know it would be sooooo much fun. All the creative people here it would be a great time with great ideas for crafts and could you imagine the garden talk. OH, thats what we do here at GardenStew and makes it all so much fun.
I wasn't sure what to do with mine this winter..so what I did was plant the whole thing into the ground. I will let you know if it makes it through the winter. I surely didn't want to give it away or toss it and I didn't want to bring it inside.. I wish I had some gardening friends that get together to do things..
