http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world ... 34156.html What a fiesty lady she was, not only to the enemy but also to other folks who tried to mess with her life.
What a remarkable lady Nancy was!! There's not many could say that they'd led such a long and eventful life.
It's people like these, the trend setters, or call them the chosen ones by fate - Who have by their selfless action shaped the world into what we see today. So had such people not been around, history indeed would have taken a different turn. Reading this also made me realize how precious our everyday freedom is, which (specially those who never got to witness any oppression) thanklessly take it for granted... It is however somewhat unfortunate in a way too, that majority of such great people only come into view during a conflict. But I guess that is where such individuals are needed most... We can of course later decorate such people with medals and other citations - But non of it can actually equal their selfless actions. In my own country we have many medals of honors, for both the armed forces as well as for the civilians. The highest one of which is called the Nishan-e-Haider (literally meaning "Mark of the Lion"). The special thing about this medal is that it is the only one in the world (that I know of) which is drop forged from the metal that is smelted from captured enemy equipment - Kind of like a final insult to the enemy in my culture! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nishan-e-Haider However this too can't always equal the heroism that such people display in the face of danger. Thanks Toni for sharing this with us all!
