I went to the mail box today and there was an invitation for my daughter to attend Yale University  . I never had one of those show up for my boys. I think they (All college/universities) all must subscribe to the "very high ACT" score mailing list. She surely didn't put their code in the box for the test score results to be sent there. But they don't have any sign language courses there, so she probably won't attend there. ( I want her closer to home than that anyway!)

    CONGRATS TO YOUR DAUGHTER!!!

They do get a list of high ACT scores and send out letters whether the student expressed an interest or not. My oldest grandson got one from Yale last year, no way they can afford that but it made him feel good.

Thanks Toni and KK. To us it was "funny" since it is an ivy league school and I am a truck farmer. my hands ae the roughest looking hands I think you would find of anybody on here. My nails and knuckles are are always embedded with dirt and plant debris...no manicures here. We just wouldn't "fit in" there, but it was an honor to get the mailing, Caity earned it.

Wow! Your daughter must have really wiped out the ACT test to get an invitation from Yale. You must be proud, and please congratulate her for all of us here on the Stew :smt041 .
Carolyn, you would fit in just fine anywhere. After the Yale mamas and papas had a brief conversation with you, you'd be surrounded with admirers. Who cares about manicures, it's what's in the head and heart that counts!

Thanks, Jane and Donna. Caity did do very well on her Act... We were all delighted for her. She squealed when she received it and then said "maybe I should study and take it again" Really? Maybe? Maybe she should have studied before the test and not think about it afterwards. silly girl!

They get hold of things like test scores and send those invites out. If her scores are really high, she will likely have a few grocery sacks full by the time she graduates.

AA, everyday! the mailbox has some college I have never heard of in there. Somedays that is the only mail in there...caity's college invitations. I think she is going to stay right here in Ohio, though and go to Wright State down near Dayton.

I know what you mean Carolyn. When my oldest was in high school, we got sacks of college invites, including Ivy League colleges [which there was no way we could afford]. He also had very high grades and National Honor Society and Honor Roll..

I know how proud you are of Caity. I bet she is an awesome daughter.
