I found a small wooden sled at a yard sale. It was stained and varished with a Santa scene on it. Whoever glued the Santa scene to the sled, didn't do a very good job. It was wavy and the edges were loose. I lifted the scene from the sled and sanded the whole thing. I gave it several coats of antique white paint over the whole thing. I sealed the whole thing with spray. I found a window cling of the snowmen and glued it to the sled. The sled cost me fifty cents and the window cling was ninety seven cents. I already had the paint.
That is charming! It's very appropriate for Christmas, but can also be used throughout the winter. Well done!
Donm, You really surprise me. I didn't know you were a yard sale buff. I really like what you did with it for less than $2.00. My question for you is, why ever didn't you buy more of those little sleds??????? You could have given them for little gifts for Christmas.
We found a little sled at the local thrift shop a week or so ago. We didn't refurbish it. We took it to our local museum and the curator put it under the Christmas tree. It belonged there. dooley
Lucky you! Not only to see it but to see the way it could look with a little work and imagination. The sled is so cute now.
When I saw the photograph I thought it was brand new!! You certainly did a great job refurbishing it. I think the snowman scene is far more appropriate for a sled than Santa. Now we need to see a picture of you sliding down a hill on it.
