Two of my daylilies have yellow dots on all the leaves. They are in close proximity to one another, & no other daylilies on the property have this condition. I am concerned about a contagious virus. Does anyone know anything about this? (#1)See the dots? Want to keep it. ( photo / image / picture from Cayuga Morning's Garden )
Ohhhh!! Dots not good! It looks like Daylily Rust. This is too close to home, eek!! Check this Cornell University web site for more info on Puccinia hemerocallidis. http://plantclinic.cornell.edu/factshee ... lyrust.pdf I will check all my daylilies. A task that I have now made longer. It looks like it is on a Catherine Woodbery......which is not on their susceptible list. Double eek!! I have it on three daylilies, Catherine Woodbery, Rosy Returns and one other(too dark to tell which one). More tomorrow, Jerry
Jerry---Oh my, tell me it ain't so! I remember hearing something about daylily rust & when I examined the plants today, I did not see any pustules poking out of the surface on the underside of the leaf. I will look more carefully tomorrow in the daylight.
