The most important aspect of planting is to be sure that the soil is well-draining. I make a layer of sand in the base of my planting hole or trench.
Harvest first thing in the morning.
When harvesting, very carefully clip-away the red stigma and dry this thoroughly before storing.

Multiplies quickly in close clusters. Spring greenery dies back and returns in the fall with only the flower.
