Description: We just cut the last hay of the year, and this is what our pasture looks like in mid-November. The cutting is timed right--we start counting species and numbers of birds for Cornell U. in NY in mid-November, and we can actually see the pond for the waterfowl that come in, and the hawks can hunt the field for voles and mice. We also get quite a few redwing blackbirds and meadowlarks picking over the pasture.
