Description: As soon as we could get the barn into shape, we got Australorp chicks. Here are our ladies as youngsters, not laying yet and without their red combs. They are free-ranging, with their chicken tractor in the background. They liked to free-range, but when they got tired they liked the safety of their tractor. Now they free-range when I can be outside with them, since they seem to want to hitch a ride on every passing tractor and truck!
