Plans for Permanent PlantsAlways fighting the crabgrass and other weeds in the Asparagus and Strawberries so this fall I am going to put down some black plastic, place cinder blocks around the edges and fill it with garden dirt and compost. I'll have to go 2 - 3 blocks high for the Asparagus but only one high for the Strawberries. Transplant them in their new beds. Hopefully this will make it easier and I think it will look nice also. Then I am going fill the holes in the blocks with soil and plant my onions and garlic in those. I can't wait to get started! This blog entry has been viewed 180 times

Can we have before and after photographs please? We do like to see what others are doing in their gardens. It all sounds very exciting so good luck.
Your plan sounds good, I have some places in the garden that I am considering the same treatment for. Tired of fighting the neverending battle of the weeds.
Yes, I need to learn to post pictures. I read the "how to" but... well...I will have to get the husband to SHOW me how. I'm not very computer friendly. So as soon as that happens I will post some .
Cinder blocks, of course. Well thought you. :D I've never thought of that before now. Thanks for making my head run amok with new ideas. *lol*
