Welcome to a blog from Delaware!I just joined Garden Stew and I look forward to the many opportunities to make friends and share thoughts and ideas. I have been a professional gardener in another life and currently enjoy my perennial and annual plantings, collecting seeds, and working through the challenges of trying to have a successful vegetable garden in the sand of coastal Delaware and living in the woods. I still need to get more sunlight to my veggies. I may try topping some holly, maple, and sassafras trees into a hedge type border. The trees aren't very large in diameter and are only about 15 to 20' tall. I don't have a lawn and am very proud of what I have accomplished with ornamental grasses, hostas, daylilies, liriope, and some various shrubs. As of this writing it is 41 degrees and a light rain which we've had for three days now. Winters aren't too severe here along the coast of southern Delaware. Next week it is supposed to turn colder. Highs in the mid to upper twenties. Yuk. The older I get, the more I dislike winter. I will send some pictures of summertime shots when I figure out how to get them here. Thanks for reading. Peace, Bruce This blog entry has been viewed 238 times
