Spring in January!

Category: Mangoman's Blog | Posted: Fri Feb 01, 2013 6:12 pm

Wow. We went from the teens to the 60's in three days. I have crocus in bloom and my narcissus and daffodils are out of the soil about 4". Sugar maple buds are getting large, almost like they want to leaf out. A sign of spring??? I think it's too early for this type of behavior with mother nature. Today we had 1/4" of snow. Weird. Stuff will freeze if exposed to low temps and budded out.
I will be jumping in the Atlantic Ocean this Sunday for the 22nd Lewes Polar Bear Plunge. We raise money for Special Olympics Delaware. It is one of the most successful, one day fund raisers in the country. We usually raise around $600,000.00 dollars. It isn't too bad unless the temp is below freezing. I'll let ya'll know how it goes. Peace
