Meet Copper, the Beagle PupI've just been so busy lately! One of the reasons is that we have just gotten a new Beagle pup! The kids have named him "Copper" after the hound from Disney's "The Fox and the Hound". He is settling in well...pretty good on the housebreaking part. I've never had a Beagle before. My dh had one growing up. I had a hound mix growing up, so I have some experience with hounds. This pup is pretty smart, but can be quite vocal (which I am learning is true in Beagles). He does really want to please so this helps with the training. He is so loving and playful! I've gotten him to play fetch, and he is learning to sit. He already knows the word "No" which helps when he starts to try and pull up my ferns! This blog entry has been viewed 2068 times

Oh, he is a cutie. We had Beagles when I was growing up and yes they are quite vocal. They are great with kids tho.
He's been so sweet with the kids...a bit nippy, but happy to chew a toy instead. He is so happy-go-lucky!
He is adorable, we have a beagle, Basil the beagle, check out the pet forum for some pics of him. Beagles are happy go lucky and they make wonderful pets especially for kids. Dad raised them as hunting dogs and we always played with them while he was at work.
Awwwww what an adorable puppy. I just know Copper is going to be a great adddition to your family as they are perfect canine buddies for children.
Thank you all! We really like him! My cats seem to like him more than I would have thought....even the mean cat is fairly tolerable....
What a handsome pup HB. The name Cooper always reminds me of Agent Cooper from Twin Peaks :)
Too cute! My neighbors have beagles that sound like they are being skinned alive everytime their people drive off to work, just too funny! (they are several acres away so the noise isn't annoying 'tall)
Oh how darling such a wonderful adorable little face.
My dad raised beagles. We always had one when I was growing up. He gave one to our boys. They had it all their growing years. They are beautiful dogs. dooley
Yup, that is about right...sounds like he is being skinned alive. He's getting better about it...the barking doesn't bother me....but when he shrieks it is kind of piercing. His ears are so soft and velvety...and he has the sweetest brown eyes! Login or register to leave a comment. |
