Our borders before and after the snowWe've got snow. We've had little snow for the past couple of winters, but we've got it now. With interest. First, a look at our house. The north side: The south side: And now the comparison photos. Here's west-side rock border: And this is the border today: Our south-eastern corner: Today it looked like this: The Ligularias with the boat-shaped border behind it: You can still see the cone fir, yes? And over there is our Hosta path. I do wonder when I'll see that again: The Empress Wu: Well, the view is still beautiful though: And I'm getting very strong arm muscles too. You're right...that is a beautiful view. We don't have mountains here in Wisconsin, and I'd love to wake up to that view every morning!
Goodness, you do have a lot more snow than what you have shown us in the last couple of years.
Blimey now your garden looks just like mine!!! Let's hope it's a slow thaw when it comes or we could end up with flooding. What a great view you have though Droopy!!
I think there must be at least 70-80 cm out there on flat ground. That's something like 2.5 feet, isn't it? We're not unaccustomed to these amounts of snow, but it is hard work to get on top of it when it comes down over such a short period of time.
I think I like the before pictures better. Even looking at your pictures make me cold. No snow here, just rain. Beautiful view though. dooley
Enjoyed seeing the snow, love the last picture. Looks like shoveling snow has been a full time job!
OMG!!!!!! and I was upset at the 10 and 12 inches here. Its going to be high temp here today 10 and -20 I think tonight. That view is gorgeous.
Dooley, I too like the before-photos best. :D We've been shoveling snow for quite a few hours daily. Now we're either in for a week or so of very cold but dry weather, or we're getting above 0°C temps this week-end, maybe with rain. We never know, so we have to take whatever comes. *lol*
Your foto show is a very good one this tiome, Droopy. It looks like you guys have to almost constantly shovel snow there. It may be good for the arm muscles, but what about your backs? hahaha. You'd better be careful.
Wow-wee wow wow... That's a lot of snow. I can imagine you are tired of shoveling but do you also feel kind of powerful and fierce? Like woman against nature? They are awesome pictures Droopy. If I were there I'd help you shovel. Be careful.
Well, we haven't seen snow like this in years either, Sjoerd.
Wow Droopy...you sure have a lot of snow! We usually have that amount too, but not this year...YET! The great thing about lots of snow over the gardens is that you know everything is well protected. I can't wait to see how your Empress grows this year!!
Amazing pics. I wouldn't think anything would survive the weight, and being frozen. Cuttings?
Me neither, Netty. :D
I really liked reading your blog, and seeing the photos! You have gorgeous gardens! When does spring weather typically arrive there? None too soon? Ha!
Spring will arrive when it sees fit. It usually does. *lol* That will be anything between mid-February and late March, but rarely later than the beginning of April.
This is so beautiful - both in the snow and in season!
All the pictures are really awesome but the last one belongs on a postcard somewhere. It is absolutely a stunning picture.
Thanks for liking it. I guess I'm a bit blasée about our view since I see it all day long. :D Login or register to leave a comment. |
