Can't believe I haven't written a blog entry in two years

I give upEven with watering everything early in the morning and again late in the evening I can not keep anything alive. Plus I can not justify watering plants when there is a distinct possibility that water restrictions could very soon include how much we can use for household needs. I guess I could say, "oh well there is always next year". But after going thru weather almost this bad last year (had the drought but not the heat) that is what I said last Sept...I really thought that everything would return to normal and all my work would survive this year. Most of my plants are perennials so there is hope that they will return next year, what remains to be seen is whether it will be worth it. This blog entry has been viewed 670 times

Oh Toni I hope the drought and heat situation gets better for you really soon!! I know it is sooooo frustrating!! I hope you don't lose your desire for gardening!!! I hope you can keep everything going and not give up!! You are in my thoughts and I know everyone here at the Stew agrees that we are all here for you!! PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!
Don't give up, please. Maybe your current plants won't survive but you can get drought tolerent plants. They grow a lot of those here. Desert gardening is a possibility. Dooley
Dooley brings up a good point Toni, maybe a switch in some plants would be a good idea.
Toni I'm never giving up.I was told my garden is dying too but nothing I can do about it except keep trying after I get home .Don't give up .I'm not going too.
I hate all you are suffering. Don't give up. Try looking on the web at some xeriscaping literature.
I did the same thing and it took me 2 OR MORE YEARS to get brave enough to try again.... and I regret it... but, what I learned is that in a warm climate (fla) you need to learn what to plant and where to plant them (sun/shade/partial) there are LOTS of beautiful plants that while maybe they don't produce FLOWERS all year,or maybe at all.. they are still GORGEOUS to look at, and what an accomplishment!! You won't be sorry. Suggestion, if you have a FREECYCLE group near you, JOIN and post asking for EASY to grow plants or whatever you want... you'll be surprised... that's what I didn and was overjoyed and overwhelmed with what I received FOR FREE!! (www.freecycle.org) FYI to all, this website is worldwide and you can get LOTS of things for free there (and of course give things too)... anyway, please don't give up!!
