Updates on new growthSaturday was a busy day in the yard. Here are a couple shots of progress in the plants so far. Klaus had bitten the tops off of the white canna and eucalyptus. I am glad I didn't trash them....they obvioulsy had a better start the the roots than I had though because they continued to grow!! The glads are coming up nicely as well.... The brug has two buds that are about 7" long already and many small ones forming. I surrounded the brug with white petunias and nasturtium. The nasturtium will be the deep red ones when they bloom. What a lovely yard you have, Budagardener. Looks like Klaus' pinching via teeth did wondwerfully. LOL . . . I love your glads . . . I think I like them better in the pot than in the yard . . . you inspire me!!!! Blessings for the day . . . SoJ
I mow my Cannas down and they come right back like gang busters.I love cannas .I plant them mostly away from the house at the edge os my yard.I have glads in pots and in the ground.Yours sure look Healthy. My burgs are also in the ground.I also have lots of cuttings in pots but will be putting them in the yard soon. They always get cut back and the roots covered real good for winter. The Daturas too.
Thank you SongofJoy, I usually plant the glads in the yard, but I recently saw a photo of them in pots and when they bloom, they just looked so cool.
I leave about a foot off the ground and take all the limbs I cut back use root harmone and put them in my green hose or back porch and keep them watered. They root fast.Just dont let them freeze.I don't like Cannas in a pot as they multiply way to fast and stunt the growth.I will be taking all of mine out and outting them in the ground this year.
A canine pincher, what will be next? Well done Klaus! I'll be looking forward to seeing photos of those cannas and gladioli when they bloom.
Klaus those petunias look great around your brug and I'm sure the nasturtiums will look just as good when they flower. I hope you'll post another photograph of your glads when they flower. Login or register to leave a comment. |
