Rest in Peace my little Bertie Boy!!

Yesterday was a very bad day for my family!! We lost our dear furry friend and companion Bert!!:( He was like a family member and I can't believe he is gone!! I tried to prepare myself for this day because we knew it would be soon, but you really can't prepare for this kind of loss!! I just lost my baby girl Bebe just a few months ago, so it is double hard this time!! Bailey and Duke are very depressed today also! I hope they will be ok! They won't play or eat even!!
We got Bert from friends of ours in 1995. He was about 11 months old. Our friends worked during the day and had to leave him alone, he chewed a few too many things and Gale told David either the dog goes or I do!! Well that's how we ended up with the great fellow!! He never chewed up anything of ours, but I don't work and I was able to be right with him!! John worked with him and trained him to be a bird dog! He went along with John on many duck hunting expeditions and was a great bird dog! He loved to ride in the back of John's truck!! He was your typical loveable Chocolate Lab!! He filled many of our days with laughter due to his cute little antics!! He lived his life with lots of love and will be missed greatly!! Rest in peace my dear friend!!

Oh, Julie, my heart goes out to you. We love your dogs, too. Chance will miss him, too. I love chocolate labs. We were sort of looking for one when we got Chance. Chocolate labs are so smart and great guard dogs. We had one in our neighborhood who guarded all the kids on the block, especially a little girl who tended to wander away. He would herd her back and watch out for her. Only thing, her mom would have to wait for the owner to come home to retrieve the little girl. Dooley

Yes chocolate labs are wonderful dogs!! What the neighborhood lab did is truly typical of the labs!!hehe!! Duke herds the chicken and cats out of the driveway when we drive up!!hehe! They are really funny!!

Oh Julie I wish there was something I could do to take the pain of your loss away. I still feel sad when I think of our yellow lab, Blue, who died a few years back. Labs are such freindly, faithful and happy companions and I know Bertie will be sorely missed. If you want to chat then you know I'm only a PM away.

Jubabe I know how hard this lose is to you all.He was a very good dog and he will be so missed by everyone around you.I am so sorry I'm not there for you now.I know talking to Heather helped lots last night.One of the wolf possies will be for sure missed by the other 2.Man what a loss, that old boy was a good ole dog,I love you my sweet jubabe and a big hug sent your way baby girl.

Dear Julie,
We were so sorry to hear of the loss of our good friend, Bert. There are no words, even in doggish to fully describe our sadness. Bert was a noble and trusted security officer and a wonderful friend. I have ordered the flags at all Chance Security Offices to be lowered to halfstaff for the next 30 days. Our hearts go out to you, Bailey and Duke. Chance

Chance I'm sure Bert would really appreciate the flags being flown halfstaff for him! Thanks for being his friend!
