We were fortunate enough to visit the Park Inn September 10 & 11, 2011 during it's grand opening. Originally, the bank was the vault-like east end, with the law offices between the bank and the hotel. The exterior remains true to Wright's Wasmuth Portfolio rendering, and the interior has been very well converted into a modern day hotel. We were very impressed with the interior conversion, and the the attention given to keeping as much of the original plan intact as possible. This was an impressive task, and well done, especially when accommodating modern day ADA laws and fire codes.
This is the north side of the entire complex. The hotel is on the right, originally law and bank offices were in the middle section, and the bank is on the far left.
This is the bank main doors.
This is the hotel meeting room off the main lobby.
This is the skylight stained glass windows in the hotel.
This is the lobby where you check in. The low ceiling upon entering in typical of a Frank Lloyd Wright design. It encourages you to continue on into the larger room.
More windows...
FLW design barrel chairs.
2nd story windows looking out into the city park. Another effort to bring the outdoors "in".
More can be found here.
