So much going on in my yard right now!!

Category: Other Stuff around the yard | Posted: Wed Apr 29, 2009 12:29 am

Wow, I just can't believe how much is blooming in my yard right now. To walk down the path is just heaven. Between the lilacs and the wisteria, the scent is amazing. Turn the corner and sweet smelling laurel is blooming too. Everywhere I look, things are coming up and looking happy. Take a look!

The lilacs are heavy with flowers! I take a sniff every time I pass by!

The wisteria.... Oh, I know, I complain about them all the time but they are beautiful and if I can just keep up with them.... I have two left -- one old, and one new. I am training the new one up an old clothesline pole. The old one is in desperate need of a new arbor.

The laurel is blooming too. Smells like candy!!

I hope you enjoy! I hae more to post but... for another day.

My goodness, DB! What beautiful fotos...and what lovely flowers. I particularly like the tint of those Lilac flowers. Very special to me.
Ýou know, I fon;t think that I have ever seen a free-standing Wisteria (so to speak). I sorta like the looks of that.
Theyt are very thickly laden with flowers here too. Beautiful...everything is just simply beautiful. Well done, you.

Oh! It does Glendann! I can't get enough of it, actually.

Sjoerd, are you speaking of the old wisteria with the twisted trunk? Poor thing has never had a really good support structure. It sort of leans on a low fence beside it. Not well placed either -- too close to the house. It's beautiful (I love the trunk) but that is the one that will take my roof off if I'm not careful. Thanks for your nice comments. What makes the lilacs special for you?

DB, I'm sitting here just drooling. I can't wait till my flowers start blooming. We have lilacs but not in bloom yet. Maybe I'm just in the wrong state. Oh well, I guess I'll have flowers to show later, but for now, thanks for showing us yours. :)

Petunia, I lived in Chicago for 5 years and I remember the lilacs were just incredible -- I guessed because of the cold winters. I loved gardening in the midwest -- shorter season but everything was lush. Friends thought I was a bit off because around March I would be searching the ground for bulbs! Ha ha. Not till May! I hope Spring hurries up for you.
