A low tide walk.

Not the lowest of the tides yet but interesting. Photographed 2 or 3 new species and now have 13 different stars.

I've seen a few different species of starfish here in the UK.
Common Sun Star/Crossaster papposus,
Bloody Henry/Henricia oculata,
Common Starfish/Asterias rubens
Cushion Star/
Asterina gibbosa
and
Common brittlestar/Ophiuroidea
but none quite as colourful as the ones you've shown us.

If our weather ever clears up (we had snow again today) then I'll try to get down to the shore to photograph some for you. Fingers crossed.

It is not the biggest, or the one with the most arms. It has 17, other sunstars have 22 or more and can be 2 feet across.
