A couple of Oystercatchers.Sorry that I can't answer your messages, we can only make 2 entries a day so its not possible. You all know I appreciate your comments, and with you all being so good, I've put in another picture for you. A couple of Black Oystercatchers. They nest close by on an island and then hang about the lagoon the rest of the year. When they meet each other they bow up and down and make quite a din. Our oystercatchers are black and white with orange bills and legs. Very different from your black ones. I expected them to have orange/red legs too and find it surprising that thye're a totally different color. I'm learning something new every day from your photographs. Thanks again.
wow those are some strange looking birds and colours!
They almost look like cartoon characters. I can imagine them having some amusing conversations.
