The witch hazel is flowering already and when we see the weather in the UK we wonder how the birds are doing over there. There was a bit of sad news in our paper today, where I was taking pics at a lake over Christmas, they found a womans body in the water.

Cute little bird, the witch makes a nice background.

Our birds are having a bad time of it with the severe weather conditions we're experiencing at the moment. However, I'm doing my bit by feeding the birds that visit my garden. They're get high fat feeds four times a day so I'm hoping they'll survive until the weather improves.

Your little bushtit certainly seems to know where to perch to have his photograph taken doesn't he? The witch hazel sets him off to perfection.

I'm sorry to hear of the poor woman who was found in the lake. I sincerely hope she didn't suffer.
