Wow, has it really been since August???

Category: Creating an English Cottage Garden | Posted: Mon Jan 25, 2010 1:04 am

I can't believe it has been this long since I have posted. Unfortunately, not much was done in the cottage garden since the last post. I ran out of funds, so the existing sidewalk still exists. I still have quite a bit of flagstone to purchase to finish the pathways, and of course I have all the digging to do to set the stone in the ground. The fence that I got is quickly falling apart. I am pretty disapointed since I just got it new this past season. It will take a lot of vinyl glue to fix it. I am not looking forward to our Wisconsin spring full of mud and mess. At least I was able to do a good fall cleanup of the planting beds, so the hardest part this spring will be waiting for the ground to dry out. Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday!

It's so good to see you posting here again ashcats - I thought you'd left us!! So pleased to hear that you managed to do an autumn cleanup of your planting beds. What a pity the fence didn't last though. I'll keep my fingers crossed for some nice, dry weather for you and that you'll find enough money to progress with your pathways soon.

Hi J, glad to see you back here. We just got 6 inches of new snow Sunday, Fred preached Sunday. I've been writing a grant application from the DNR for some work on the lake this summer, that has kept me busy for the last couple weeks. We may be down in February. everything is good here. Hi to the boys, all 3 of them. ☺
