This is another ground cover I like to grow in the woodlands gardens. It has such unusual foliage. In the shade, it doesn't spread so much. The flowers are insignificant.

I agreed with Kay, above. This plant is grown for its foliage, which is very interesting. Mine has green leaves with maroon and white zigzags through them. The maroon goes well with other maroon-leafed plants such as ligularia or heuchera. I suppose the white could be echoed by a white hosta or the white of a astilbe flower.
I am told it can be aggressive if grown in more sun. I grow it in shade and it is very well-behaved. It only gets to be 8-12" in height in my garden. I like this opinion 1 person likes this opinion Note: please don't use this box to post questions, you can do that on our forums instead. |
