June 29th 2016. Delphiniums are almost in full bloom,..afterwards the side shoots will produce blooms,..i always like looking at the middle of the bloom as it does resemble a Bee,..you either have a White Bee or Black Bee.
Growing a new plant is always exciting,..in this case its a Chinese Lantern Flower although its not native to China but from Southeastern Europe and Japan. Seeds take approx 25 days to germinate,..the plant grows to a height of 2 Ft,..berries and leaf are poisonous but this is a very attractive plant because of its blooms,..it will tolerate partial shade or light shade,..average soil. Growing Chinese Lantern Flowers, How to Grow Chinese Lantern Seeds This is the stage its grown to so fingers crossed it will grow to maturity and bloom. Shame roses have to be dead headed as they still have an impact. Geraniums starting to bloom,..these were stored in my shed with the soil knocked off and were hung as one would do with Onions. Hosta ( Hosta 'Golden Standard') Hydrangea Mophead,..picture taken through the glass of my Bedroom Window,..this is one changed in color using Hydrangea Colorant,..originally a pink.
Beautiful flowers, as always! I love the delphiniums with their bright colors and 'bees'. I have read that you can store geraniums like onions before but I've never met anyone that has actually done it. Since I do store my onions in my very dark cool basement, and they last from one harvest to the next (I haven't bought an onion since we moved here) I will have to try this with geraniums also.
2ofus,..thank you!,..i envy you with your supply of onions,..i used to have a Veg Garden and loved walking into the shed where i hung my onions,..lovely smell from dry hanging onions. I was taught to either overwinter Geraniums in pots of soil,..but to keep the soil slightly moist,..it wasn't 100% successful,..or to shake the soil off and place them individually in paper bags then hang them up,..i didn't like this method either as i needed to see how they were getting over winter,..hanging up in plain sight with no soil proved the best method as they all survived. Just coming into bloom. Cape Fuchsia ( Phygelius 'Funfare Orange') and Cape Fuchsia ( Phygelius 'Candy Drops Cream') Rose ( Rosa 'Korresia' )-----------------Resistant to disease. Hosta ( Hosta 'Patriot' ) No ID Rose. Cotoneaster dammeri,..Evergreen,..white flowers in summer,..red berries autumn to spring.

Rose ( Rosa 'Korresia' ) I made the video below for a friend who moved from the City to the Countryside,..purchased a Cottage,..renovated it and created a Cottage Garden.
I'm admiring your roses too A day or two ago I took a cutting from my yellow climber and have it in the potting shed, hoping it takes off!! I thought of you while I was doing it because you say it is so easy...we will see
Hi Deanna,..thank you!,..yes lol it is easy to grow a cutting,..fingers crossed it will root for you and let me know its progress. Hi Anisa,..thank you for liking the flowers and i am pleased for you that your Hosta is blooming,..its nice to see those blooms,..you should have a go at growing some Delphiniums they are impressive. Some Roses from the garden all pictures were taken in June 2016,..Note the video is 11 mins long.
So very many lovelies to enjoy. Every time I think one is my favorite I scroll down to find another excellent flower or plant that I wish I had room or time to include in my garden.
Thank's Jewell,..its the time to do things new that evades us,..however when someone presents us with a new plant we like,..time stops until we get that plant into a suitable location,..in quick time,..lol. Campanula,..Lobelia and Sweet Alyssum would look great cascading down from your new raised bed and wall,..i look forward to seeing what you do in that area,..i am always amazed at what similar weather you have to me,..especially when i see the Moss and Ferns,..not forgetting those beautiful Hosta Plants you have.
July 7th 2016. New Lily blooms opened in the past few days though i have not uploaded all of them to the Computer as yet,..a touch of some below. Malva moschata 'Musk Mallow'. Lobelia,..Trailing.
Your roses are so pretty and the video was great. I will admit I enjoyed the shots of multiple roses as the colors of each seemed to enhance the colors of the ones near it. I like the dramatic color of the lily, orange with a touch of yellow and the dark centers. I grew Mallow one year and loved it...until hundreds of seedlings appeared the next year! I couldn't keep up with it so I eliminated it.
