This is getting bad......they are beginning to like hot weather  When the temperature reaches 60 then they will freeze or think they are freezing. Then they will not be able to type, their fingers will be frozen....all communication with Texas will be lost :(.........Wait!! A solution!! Send blankets. :)

Have no fear... we'll be complaining about the freezing temps soon enough! And then, with any luck... we'll get to complain about flooding one day.
It just seems that Texas is getting the worst of it this year. Some times, we really do have great weather!
    ;)

You will not hear me complaining about cold temps, I love them and feel more alive in winter than I ever do in summer. When the temperature is below 50 we open the bedroom window, put the fan in the window and sleep like logs. It's better when the temp is in the 30-40 range but anything cold is great.

Toni... I bet if I looked through years of old posts, I could find at least one instance where you complained of cold/freezing temps.
    Insert small print/disclaimer:
"Although Toni loves snow and cold temps.... she may have complained possibly at least once about the effect of freezing temps on one occasion in reference to at least one of her plants... maybe."
    Am I right? :-D

I lost an Aloe one year, does that count?
Otherwise search to your hearts content, but I don't think you will find anything.

As I tell my family, I do get cold in winter but I like being cold. I complain mightily in the summer because I not only hate being hot, it literally makes me sick.

We had another record breaker yesterday....101 degrees. Broke the 1956 record of 99 and puts 2011 at 71 days of 100+ temps for this year. Never fear, we have been know to have a 100 degree day or two in October from time to time so we could still add to that total.
And the way things are going we could still be adding to that total in November and/or December.

Toni, I am with you. I love the cold weather and feel much better when it is cold. Heat makes me sick, and sends my BP into orbit. I don't know how anyone tolerates the climate in TX, and the geography isnt too great either.

Contrary to what a lot of people think, Texas isn't all desert and sand. We don't have mountains or hurricanes like those in the TV program Dallas many years ago or empty desert outside of the city of Dallas as shown in the opening sequence of the X-Files movie in 1998.

In fact,in normal years most of the state is quite green with a wide diversity of plants....from cactus in the far west to 50 foot tall pine trees in the east. Just about every plant you can think of will grow in some part of the state, just not everything in all parts of the state.

And don't forget all of our lakes, rivers & streams (well... back when they had water in them!). And there's the hundreds of miles of coastline to enjoy.
