A Chat Thread to get to know some of you

My thermometer reached 4'c today, but it was as high as 7'c last week. No hard frosts since before Christmas I am glad to say, but I fear we are being lulled into a false sense of security as I always think of February as being the c-c-c-cold month.

 

We will be going down into the teens again this week end--YUCKY

 

I am also a newcomer but also participate in other gardening sites. I recognize a few of the usernames, ha ha! I am using a new one for GardenStew.

Anyway, I live in NYS and since my parents and grandparents always had vegetables and flowers growing, it was only natural that I'd follow suit. I prefer to grow houseplants and have orchids, cacti and succulents. I love to read and take pictures, among other hobbies. Last year, I began working at the local hardware store caring for all their plants (don't laugh, the owner LOVES plants!). Once growing season begins, I will be back to work. It's taking some time to find my way around this site, but I'm getting there!

Hope to make some new friends here - gardening and otherwise.

 

By Sunday it's suppose to be down to 5 here...Thought spring might have come early as it's been in the high 40's and most of my snow has melted..but I guess not...sniff sniff

How do I fix my time zone so i'm on the right time??

I would make one for myself, but I would forget it, mine is my initials with an s added at the end because all the sites started asking for 6 characters

LOL Sandra.. that's so funny,but i am right there with you! I forget what day it is.The Dr had to dilate Lyle's eyes today, so i wound up driving the rest of the way.

Mamasita... I think i recognize you now..lol, but I'll call you plantgoddess.. sounds like you know a lot about plants, if they gave you that nickname.

Good morning, that weatherman is going to get fired, he is still talking about sleet and snow, I hate snow--I love sunshine !!!!
