Great video Biita, I love the ocean in any form. It always reminds us how small we really are. Our waves don't get quite that big around here (So. ME) even when there's a storm. But it's still always sobering. Thanks for sharing.
That is an awesome series,, and their Norwegian too!! lol. Regular jobs,,hmm,, like Sig Hansen said its something most Norwegians in the Nordland just don't know how to do,,,lol. And its true! thanks for the link, very nice.
This small monument is to all the men lost at sea, its on Chincoteague Island, Virginia, right by the Chicoteague Lighthouse. It reads: "On an October day he went away Away to the sea, where he loved to be Even on a vessel for him unworthy... The boat went down, and so did he, Into the deep and unforgiving sea" Inez Doris, Age 14 Dedicated to our loved ones lost to the sea The power of the sea is amazing
When Josh came into the harbor, on the Trollfjord, this is the monument that meets the boat as it enters in. Its the widow fishermans wife statue in honor of all the surviving women who lost their men and sons at sea. Its not very good, but then we went on the boat to get a pic either. Its a woman with her hand raised in goodbye, and hopefully welcome home.
I looked around and found a foto of the place that I was talking about on the island of Urk. The foto shows the woman with billowing dress, looking out to see...the placks you can perhaps just make out around the edge of the small viewing place behind the statue. Sorry for the poor quality of the foto.
