2, those broccoli heads look great! I hope you are felling better.

So what is enviromesh??? I gave up on growing broccoli & Brussels sprouts because they got eaten up last year.

And how does one make garlic spray???

Sjoerd mentioned using enviromesh a couple of years ago to keep insects from damaging his fruits and vegetables, such as cabbage moths and leaf miners. It's a really fine mesh that you cover the plants with. I bought the garlic spray but Growingpains mentioned that he (she?) makes his own.

Crush a few garlic cloves. Place in a quart jar. Fill with water. We use distilled water. Set aside for a couple of days. We have a 2 gallon sprayer container into which we strain about half the garlic mixture. Add water up to the fill line. Shake vigorously, add a couple of drops of dish soap. The dish soap helps the fluid to adhere to the leaves. Spray on as much of the plants as you can reach. Also good for keeping Japanese beetles away from Roses. For straining out the garlic particles, we use a section cut from an old curtain. You could use a fine strainer. The garlic pieces would clog up the sprayer if not strained.

Not sure, Cayuga. I sprayed Roses this morning after killing a Japanese beetle. I hope it works for your critter. It does alter the sweet smell of Roses a bit. LOL
