I can remember when I first saw a coloured phone with a "curly cord." It was on a jazz album I bought in 1958 . If you ordered a phone from the GPO back then, it would be black and no "curly cord."
The telephones in the 40’s early 50’s were just black and plain old ugly. Thank goodness for color. Vintage color telephones came out in the1950’s …. Oh boy now I feel ancient.. well I actually am . From dial to push buttons. My first cellular phone was as heavy as a brick & as big as one . EARLY 90’S. https://www.collectorsweekly.com/telephones/princess Ann Margaret was a big star in the 60’s - 80’s. Sound track from one of her first movies.
I've reached the age where "I probably shouldn't say that" has become "What the heck, let's see what happens."
This happened this morning, no joke. When we called our friend on his birthday, he didn’t answer the phone (he was in a store), so when our phone rang a few minutes later we knew it was him and we answered with singing Happy Birthday. It stayed quiet a little while and then: “Good morning, this is the optician, your glasses are ready”. Us— “Ehmmm, sorry we expected someone else”.
Every time I try to eat healthy, along comes Christmas, Easter, summer, Thanksgiving, or Tuesday and it ruins it for me.
