I love fresh pineapple and buy it all the time. I could never figure out why you could buy such sweet pineapples and the canned was always sour.... In fact I bought an item from QVC shopping network and you can put it in the top of it (after the top part is off) and just twist it and the pineapple comes out so nice. It comes out in a ring and you just cut it into pieces.
Thanks Kay, it was really delicious and a real thirst quencher in this crazy heat!!! Sherry8, the opposite apply here in this country .... the fresh pineapples are always sour and the canned ones are always sickly sweet. I think they harvest the fresh ones way too early and the canned are boiled in tons of sugar!!! The cutting tool for the pineapple sounds great.
