Nice harvest Sojerd, doesn't the weather remind you of here? :) Now at least we are getting some rain.

Looks wonderful. I have never grown chioggia but well definately try some different coloured beets for next year. They are enjoying this damp weather. We had a heatwave like you yesterday, but today has been cool and we have enjoyed a huge thunder and lightning storm all afternoon and lashings more rain. My next allotment day will be Thursday for a couple of hours, then all day Friday, and fingers crossed my computer will be working and I can post some pics to.

Yummy! :D Aren't you glad I live so far away? :D I hope you made something delish out of your nice, colourful veggies.

    Yum, Yum!

It all looks to beautiful to eat. :-D I would definitely be interested in growing those purple peas. I hate it when you find ones that are golf ball size so to speak. The beetroots here in the US are considered an Heirloom variety. You can also get beetroots that are yellow and white striped, and orange and white inside. When you put them all together they are to pretty to eat. The red & white striped reminds me of candy Canes you see at Christmas.
They don't have the same intense beetroot flavor as the red ones and definitely no bleeding. But I sure do love the colors. I too will have to keep my eyes open for those purple peas. Thanks for sharing your harvest pic's.

CAROLYN--Yes, and they bet better air circulation too, I believe. Moisture and mildew is a bit of a problem here in this somewhat moist climate...so good air circulation is a must.

BUNKIE--Thanks so much! I was interested to see that you grow both the beetroot sorts that I do...."Great minds....", right? hahaha

Hi KK-- Yes, it sure does. Whew! Tonight we are getting the long promised rain...thank goodness--that ought to coo-off the stone and ground a bit.

Too right, EJ-- those beetroots are REALLY enjoying the moisture. I shall have to keep an eye on them to be sure they do not begin splitting from too much water uptake.
The thunder, lightning and hail has actually only begun here during the night--further to the south there has been damage.
I just can't wait until you get that compi of yours sorted so that you can post some pics. I wonder what all you will be showing. You always have such good harvests.

Hahaha...DROOPY-- nahhh. I think that it would be great if you and your lot lived much closer. I might not have as much to give to the Food Bank, though. --cackle--
Oh yes, I have made some good food from a portion of the veg featured here...but I froze the rest in.

Thanks so much, TOOTY-- I am glad that you like the looks of those veggies. I wonder if they shouldn't have named those red and white beetroots,
    "Candy-cane" instead of "Chioggia". ;)
I hope that you can find the Kapucijners there somewhere.

    Thanks for your note, Glenda.

I have looked for black-eyed peas here a coupleof times over the years, but cannot find them. I have the feeling that they do not grow well in this climate, otherwise they'd be available.
