A walk with the parasitic plants.

    There are 4 plants today, all called Indian paintbrush but have other sientific names. There are others also, but my images are on slides and I'm never happy with the scanning results.

    Oh boy I love those colours!! I can just image a great swathe of them all mixed together. :smt026

    As there is not a lot of imterest in parasitic plants, I'll put more in together. Here are 4 orchids. The first two are white bog orchid,then Royal rein orchid, Piperia transversa, Seaside Rein Orchid, Piperia maritima, Elegant rein orchid, Piperia elegans.

    All five orchids are simply lovely but I have to admit to having a favourite amongst them. Even although I find all white flowers attractive the Seaside Rein Orchid is, in my opinion, heads above the rest. I don't know if it's because the flowers remind me of snowdrops or not but it is just beautiful. :-D
