I used to live in a college town and students were overwhelmed with allergies. Doctors prescribe local honey. With the bees making the honey from local flowers, etc. that was giving the students a dose of what was causing the allergies. I know I am talking in circles. As a matter of fact, I just took a Claritin!!
You may laugh at my suggestion as most people do until they try it but I have an herbal remedy that I use twice a day for really bad allergies. YOu will need these ingredients Eucalyptus oil Peppermint oil Whole cloves breath rite strips cotton balls Put the eucalyptus, cloves and peppermint oil in a pot and fill with water and bring to a boil for at least ten minutes. Carefully soak two cottonballs in the mixture. Gently put one of the cottonballs on one nostril and tape in place. Put on the breath rite strip to open the nostril. Put a hot wet towel over your head and the pot so there is no outside air getting in. Breathe deeply for ten minutes. then remove the cottonball and do the same with the other side. I know it sounds crazy but it does work.
Late as ALWAYS, but will still stick my 2 cents worth in. There are natural pills on the market (will find them in a health food store) produced by Hyland Company ment expressly for allergies..take as directed and it should all but alleviate your problems. I can't get NEAR poison ivy/oak but what I'm seriously broke out and ITCHING! Years ago, got into what's called "greasy water" when panning gold in Calif., was actually sap of poison oak floating on water's surface. My hands swelled and blistered, tried everything under the SUN to no avail. Finally went into a health food store in Sonora, gal took one look and strongly "advised" Hyland Poison Ivy and Oak pills (made from derivitives of BOTH plants!), another product they make. CURED the problem within a WEEK with NO after effects! Took them for years after that, beginning in early spring, never had a problem again with the miserable stuff! Now, IF their allergy pills work half as good as the above, they just might be your answer (are also made from derivitives of problem allergy causers, help you build up an immunity to them). As for "flushing the ole snooz" in regards to sinus problems, try using natural sea salt. Dissolve a small amount in warm water, then sniff it up or use an old nasal spray bottle to administer it. May BURN like the devil if too strong, BUT will clean the things out RIGHT NOW! And for a bad sinus infection? Keep the Kleenex handy!
