Hopefully you can get an idea of what it looks like. Like I said no floor space so I used my fabric cupboard and drying rack (which is usually in the basement).

I just realized I can't sandwich that quilt because again no floor space (grrrr)!

Thanks Daniel. I thought it turned out well. I always make them bigger than crib size so it can be used longer. I made one back in the day for a friend of my daughter. When I saw her years later (her son was 7 or 8), she said it was his favorite blanket and still used it when he watched movies or just wanted a blanket. I will try to keep you updated. The guy came out and tore out the walls yesterday. The electrician will be out on Friday to wire the sump pump. No more Kermit songs.

Finally nearing the end of the basement saga. The last thing is the radon guys need to come out and seal the little black thing that was put at the bottom of the walls next to the cement that they put in to cover the new drain tile. I did get to work on a few quilts. I have some fabric cut. I went to a St Vincent and snagged some bags of fabric. They turned out to be s bunch of fat quarters! Very cool! And they were yellow tags so they were half off! Three were doubles. 17227828086416025519051225039221.jpg

Willow those are very nice. They'll be great in any quilt you make.

Yes; I thought so as well. I love finding good deals like that. And they're better fabric. Tighter weave

Hey Daniel, I finally tried iron on hem tape. It seems to be working great! I now have one big chunk of batting. I'm trying not to buy anything for this quilt (or any quilt). But I don't have enough flannel for the backing. I have lots of big pieces but they're for regular size quilts. This is just a throw size. Here's the front and each para wrote something plus the main teacher she worked with. (she finished her schooling and is moving on to student teaching then to teaching. 17237629216459201149051103147392.jpg

So here's my quandary..... I have enough of these to do the back. What do you think of these colors with it? I went with contrasting and there is orange and green on the front. But I'm very undecided. I don't have green or blue, which is why I went with contrasting colors. 17237633467389143786452301695573.jpg

Well that's just great, it looks pink but it's really orange. The one that's a thumb nail looks more orange.

Hi @Willowisp0801! That's a great idea for a quilt. She will love it and cherish it. Having the writing by each person gives it tremendous meaning!

I think the backing choices are nice. I've used scraps to make a backing, and it was almost like having a second quilt on the back. Anything you do will be great, because it comes from you, and specially made for her. It's perfect!

This quilt is pretty much done. The only thing left is to sew the edging.

My next project will be to paint this box.My granddaughter got it from her grandpa last year for Christmas. He does everything from milling the wood to making the actual project. Hopefully you can see the sunflower he drew on the top. That's what I'll paint. 17245158893902216972315715372912.jpg 17245159108882154293066479836653.jpg

Then it can make its way up to her bedroom.

Thanks Pac. He knows I paint so I think that's why he drew it.
