Sjoerd, yes we have scorching heat in the mornings. At the moment it's bearable, but it will get worse. It's always bad the morning after a summer evening storm. It's not just the heat, it's the humidity that really makes it so uncomfortable. My Cleome spinosas are both in pots and they stand at almost a metre in height.
Calin, your Murraya is just beautiful. I have a few, the largest is now around five feet tall. The perfume from that shrub carries quite a long way and it's such a heady fragrance in the humid summer air. I have a lot of volunteer Murrayas that have sprung up in various spots around the property and I'm looking forward to seeing them mature and join the fragrance parade.
