I'm intrigued. And obviously not up to speed on the nature of your project. My uncle, previously a forces photographer in the war, used to try to capture the 'ultimate' sunset. On a particularly promising evening he'd stroll down to the beach, way before the days of digital gizmos, and wait patiently perched on a rock while the sun set over the sea. Because he was a stickler for perfection, he was always tormented between taking a photo, or waiting just that extra minute more whilst the maximum impact of the setting sun evolved. Needless to say, he always missed the best bit at the end, and came back in a right old strop. I inherited all of his slides, but slides unfortunately have a tendency to fade, and what he did manage to get aren't what they used to be. Pete.
Pete my project is to make a large mosaic sunset/sunrise from around 500 small ones. It's great to have people like you sending me some as it would take forever for me to photograph the lot all on my own.
