:D :D :D Hey stop that tank - back in a minute - just taking a piccie for my mum!!! It's soooo funny when you really think about it but I would have done exactly the same if one of my sons were going to another country - war or not!!! Guess that makes you as much of a plant addict as me then Biita!!!

Yep i'm an addict!! But knowing my son he will think he is sending me some exotic plant an it will be something like a dandelion. lol.

Well toni i will definately be able to remember your b'day since its so close to his. He was supposed to be born on April 10th, but no,, true to his nature he was stubborn from the start. Once he makes up his mind, you can't change it. But i wouldn't have him any other way!!!

Keep us posted. I know you (he) probably can't say too much about where and what he is doing. I noticed his addy was edited by Frank (good idea) but if he can have mail, PM me with addy and I would like to write to him. My prayers are with you. I know this is difficult on all families.

    Hi Blita . . .

I haven't been here in a while, and wanted to also wish your son and his platoon protection, sweet sleep, and many blessings, Blita.

I guess I have been enlightened a little more here . . . as I did not know the extent of how many countries are involved in this war. :sete_077:

What branch of service is he in? My cousin's son was a Marine and was stationed there for quite a little while, and I am posting a link to anyone who has family serving over there. It may give you an idea of what to put in those care packages that you may want to mail.

Brandon was actually in Bagdad, and Tricia said the first thing he told her was, "Mom we need some flavor over here."

    Tricia: "Flavor?"

Brandon: "Yeah, mom . . . flavor . . . for our water . . . you know . . . that is all we have to drink . . . If you could just mail us a little, we'd be so grateful." :rosy:

    Anyway . . . .

Here is a link from Marine moms that Tricia sent us when Brandon was in . . .

Tell your son I appreciate him and his platoon for his bravery and effort.

I hope all the madness will end soon. :'(

    To End On a Lighter Note . . .

Here is Brandon in one of his lighter moments with "How To Catch A Camel"

PS: As far as snapshots of exotic flowers go . . . One of my professors in college told us that the most breathtaking view that she had ever seen was in a desert immediately after a rainshower. She said that everything just bursts into boom, and she considered herself very fortunate to witness one of those rare occasions. . . (probably as rare as sneaking up on a camel, and capturing it!) lol :snicker:

    ((((HUGS)))) and Blessings . . .

Hi Song of Joy, tell your nephew thank you from me, an my family. Josh will be over there for the next 15 months so he has a while to go yet,, he's only been there for 3 weeks.

Josh is a Private First Class, with one specialist pin, in Communication an Signal Battalion, for the Army. He's stationed at Camp Anaconda, that is the biggest communications camp in Iraq.

I don't have any pictures yet, but he has called me a few times, since he bought a calling card an uses the army's phones they have available for the soldiers. He said its cheaper to call me from Iraq than it was from America...lol.. so now he is always calling me,,lol. Which i have no complaints what so ever with that!!!

Joshua told me the same thing that all they have is water,, i sent him some coffee, an 2 bottles of a concentrated berry juice here,, it doesn't need refrigerated so i hope that will work for him. I also sent him a few small bottles of grapefruit seed extract, so if he does drink bad water over there he can add a few drops of that an it kills the bacteria instantly. so no bad water effects for him, i hope. I also sent him cloudberry jam, (his request) an hard bread,, an a bunch of other foods.

Thats the one thing that makes me proud of my son is that the American Services are all volunteer.. thats what makes our soldiers so special, they really do serve their country, an not because they have to. but because they want to.

My son called me today, an said they just got done laying cable for a new building, an wiring the equipment there. While we were talking a siren went off, but was at the other end of the compound. He said no worries, just Iraqies that come to close to the camp. I thought my heart was going to explode. But he kept on talking like nothing was going on...lol. The good news is he found out when he will have leave an is comming here the end of May thru June for 18 days. I can hardly wait..

Thank you Polly an Palm tree, for the support an comments, an to all the others who have beared with me thru this. Thank you all!!
