Well, my Roses are slowly coming to life, thank goodness for that, but there is hardly anything left of them. The miniature's are gone. The Shasta's are definitely dead, but I do see a couple of volunteers so all is not lost. One Russian Sage survived (just barely) but the garden Sage is definitely dead. My German Catchfly is gone too and the Elderberry has a lot of winter kill. I hope there isn't anything else.
Wow Netty, what a hard winter to have so much damage. Mother Nature sure lets us know what she is capable of doesn't she. Hope by late summer the roses and other survivors will be up and looking like their old selves again.
Lost some pot plants: an olive tree and an oleander. Was probably too optimistic to leave them on the terrace whole winter (although they were against our window)
I lose a few roses each year, usually because I try to grow roses that I probably shouldn't in my zone. Newer hybrid teas don't seem to do well no matter the protection I give them.
I have lost a few of my dahlias over winter. Mind you, serves me right for not lifting them, but I have left them in the ground for the past few years and they have been fine. Also left my cannas in and despite mulching them well have still lost some. Only one coming through this year. What has surprised me most is that I have also lost a few of my fuchsias, despite keeping them in a heated greenhouse over winter
Our miniature Artemisia and our Corsican mint look very dead to me. I'll replace the mint later this summer, but don't know about the Artemisia.
