Yes and no :D Fall is my favorite season but we didn't get much of a summer. Sounds like our weather was almost like your Michigan weather. We had frost clear in to June. My marigolds just bloomed!!! I'm wanting to send Pianolady some of the seeds so I hope they hang in there long enough to go to seed. Our weather forecast tomorrow night is 36 degrees! That is awful close to frost

same here stratsmom! we had heavy snow in late June with temps in the upper 30's. just haven't had a real summer here like others have mentioned, and August has been 20 degrees below normal. our corn is just tasseling and our toms are finally coloring...winter squash isn't done yet either...maybe what we need is a nice warm, long Indian Summer... :D

I like Fall, except I hate when the big trees drop all their leaves. If I don't pick 'em up, I'll be wading in 2 - 3 foot drifts of leaves! And I absolutely hate Winter. I know we have it easier in Winter in Texas - at least in this part of Texas compared to y'all way up North (up in the panhandle North of Amarillo, they have real Winter - snow & lots of freezing temperatures). But I hate the days of frozen weather and I don't like snow. We don't get that much snow, but when we do, it's a pain. At least we don't get those awful ice storms like they do off by Dallas.

NO! We have had such a late, cool and wet summer that it feels like we haven't had summer at all! I would really like a long Indian summer but the signs of fall are already quite obvious I'm afraid :(

Funny you should say that. Tonight taking my step daughter home I commented to Mark about all the leaves that had fallen along a tree lined avenue. Already people are out raking, which means me, as a jobbing gardener, had better put the leaf rake and sacks in the car again. For me the good thing is, I rake up other peoples leaves, then take the to the allotment and into my leaf mould cage ready to make a nice soil improver for next year.

However, I don't want autumn yet....I want summer to keep going. Although I am sure I read somewhere that we are going to have a late hot spell. I can only live in hope.
