I have spent the Holidays and January installing my Father into a retirement apartment and that connectivity has tickled him to no end! He was fascinated with the ability to speak to an electrical switch when he was here with me prior, and I learned that even though he had a stroke related slur, he would muster willpower to overcome his proclivity in order to command the air and control the den switches!
It certainly sounds as though Alexa is giving your father pleasure as well as unexpected health benefits. It's amazing what modern technology can do isn't it?
Thanks for sharing this l fact about Alexa and Christmas. It's always fun to have a bit of holiday spirit with our tech, right? I'll definitely give it a try and see what Santa has to say. By the way, I stumbled upon a nice website called Multitechverse that has some interesting articles about technology. Check it out here: https://multitechverse.com/. LMK what other features you've found since then guys.
Artificial Intelligence is, maybe, useful in a few ways, but the end consequences of it is likely to be frightening and dangerous.
I am glad those nice men gave me pieces of paper when (I was young) that told me to slow the hundreds of horses under my hood!
Afraid neither of us have any idea what you're on about. Zigs just asked me - ''did he get a speeding ticket?''
Yes he did. Several. Damned technology. Especially the wife's red porsche technology. It is evil incarnate.
When we lived in Texas we had a pastor and you could ask him on any given day how long until Christmas and he didn't even think, he just knew. The kids would always ask. On Halloween the whole town closed the main streets (all two of them) and churches would have trick or trunk. He'd dress up as Santa and pass out candy canes. That little town was pretty cool. It was like in the movies where everyone knew everyone and they'd just trick or treat at all the houses and the fire and police station.
