yes philip, i don't think one can plant too much garlic! am in the process of dehydrating a bunch and making a nice seasoning powder. yum!
Bunkie, Pampered Chef makes a garlic slicer. I bought one with my party $$ for having the show and it worked wonderfully. One of my boys sat and peeled the garlic for me and I dropped the cloves in the "hopper" and started twisting it. It made the nicest slices of garlic, I laid them out on the dehydrator as I sliced them and it was perfect. It looked just like the store bought kind and tasted ever so much better. I went through it all in no time at all.(I really need to do it again since I have an abundance of garlic right now.)

Hiyah Bunkers-- Well my Thanksgiving was pretty uneventful, as we do not celebrate it here. chuckle. Having said that, it is a time when I am still putting the veggie plots and flower garden to bed for the winter. There are other things afoot here, but I shall write about that later on. How did the broth canning go then?
uhoh...the ducks' pond water source froze last night, just before dark. now we have to haul jugs of water down to them mornning and night...and all our previous snow is gone so we can't 'sled' it down to the pen...sigh...watch us get dumped on now... sjoerd, the turkey broth came out delish! got lots canned for soup thru the winter months! winter...just think...13 more days and they start getting longer!
....I like your positive attitude. BTW--the turkey broth sounds VERY good. Sorry to hear about the pond freezing over. :-(
It looks to me that you have a nice garden paradise out there! Everything looking great, lush and healthy. Excellent job! I'm a little late with this comment, it's December, you know. But I'm sure it'll look just as good next season!
welcome to the forum baldeagle7! and thanks for the nice comments. right now everything is frosty! we lost all our snow a week plus ago and have been in a deep freeze since. have had lots of fog, too. but, today the sun's out! it's a fairyland out there!!! the ducks are not happy at all about the frozen pond. i have two tubtrugs set up with water, like last year, that they enjoy drinking out of and swimming in a bit...they hold 3 ducks at a time...tight squeeze! still waiting on the snow...then i'll see if sammy wants to learn how to sled the buckets of water down to the ducks!
