could you please send us some rain? I'll send you some heat. This is the hottest driest Summer I can remember. Last year was the wettest on record, I think. Hmmmm, something wrong with this picture. Last Sat. it was 102 and we have had very little rain in the last 3 months. The sweet corn is starting to shrivel and turn yellow. I have carried 300 gallons of water across the road in 5 gallon buckets in the last 2 weeks :( :( :( :'( :'( :'( just to water the rows of cukes, tomatoes and peppers that are over there.

We had those incredible thunderstorms too! Felt like the 4th of July fireworks, with some thunderclaps that rattled the house. Have never had thunderstorms last 12 hours before. Glad you are finally getting some warm weather. Looks like we are cool and damp here for a while. Wish it would at least get into the 70s.
Carolyn please take some of this cool rainy stuff! I'm sending it on a wish and a prayer.

We've had a wet summer, but we take advantage of the dry spells and have got lots done around the house, everything considering.

When it rains too badly, I think of the book seller from Kenya who, after having sold us a couple of nice books, sat himself down on our veranda, stared at the mountains across the fjord and sighed: "Oh, man, you're rich in water!"

    sounds beautiful there droopy!

hope you are getting some dry weather there philip!

hot hot hot here...in the 80's and smokey! fires are quite a ways from us, but the winds keep filling our skies with smoke. hasn't affected the gardens tho. been buzy harvesting...and still watering here and there. everyone takes a nap around 2 in the afternoon, now, as the smoke is thickest then...and the heat.

hope to snap some pics soon. sammy and pete are tighter than ever, sleeping curled up side by side most of the time!
