Neighbors above garden...a little too close for comfort... Lettuce growing on porch... Nice horseradish start, finally... Mom's Day present...a PinkBarrow...
bunkie, But those neighbors above you do have a fence, Right? That seems cool. Or would they break through the fence to become, "THE COWS IN THE CORN". 8)
LOL! WE have to keep our fences up to keep them out. The neighbors think it's 'free range' here, so they just let their longhorns roam all over the place. It's not really fair, me thinks! These cows use their horns to rip up the fences. We're always watching for them, and when we see them, we yell at the to go home, and they usually do, till late summer. That's when hubby has to run the tractor after them with the dogs and goats. He also has a new slingshot that he's getting pretty good with! Oh, the lettuce is planted in containers, red and blue, that i found on sale., You water them from the bottom.
Lizzie was barking like crazy this morning. Looked outside and saw a Big Black Bear scampering South in the field across from us! Moving too fast to get any pics!
bunkie, I have to watch out for bear here also. One eye on what you are doing and the other on the landscape. A lady that I deliver eggs to got attacked by a bear. She almost lost a pinky and got 26 staples in her back and scalp. Her dog was really hurt but they both recovered. It turned out to be a mother and cub that came inside her fenced in area for her dog. It was dark and the dog wouldn't come in. It was the last thing she thought of when she went to see her old dog that she thought was sick. Always watch out for wild life.
Hmmm...went to let the ducks out of their pond area this morning, and could only count 10. Ten. TEN. Running around in a panic, I discovered this...I thought we only had one broody hen and one nest. I was right about the one nest!!!
