I just found this wonderful website about Venus Flytraps. So after reading that, I'm sure my plant will survive.

    http://venusflytrap.info/how-to-grow-ve ... gimen.html

However one thing now worries me, which that someone told me that after the plant flowers - It will soon die afterwards... :(

So is this true? If yes, then should I cut the flowering head right now? or let it flower (as it would in nature) and save the seeds???

Right now, the plant is doing great. It eat 2 flies yesterday. One I gave to it (after swatting it), while the other it caught on it's own. So I hope that doesn't amount to overfeeding...

Pitcher Plant is also doing well, catching a mosquito almost everyday! However for both these plants, I think I now need bigger containers.

What do you guys suggest I do? I already have bought some dried peat moss, as well as coco peat.

    UPDATE:

Pitcher plant is doing great! Ever since I got it, it's sprouted 3 new leaves and one pitcher. The color of the leaves is also a very healthy and shinny green. It is also damn effective at trapping mosquito! I let both these plants enjoy about 4 to 5 hours of outdoor sunlight (and any insects which may come their way) - After which I bring them inside and place next to a window.

Venus Flytrap however is cause me a lot of confusion... Firstly, I didn't expect that it's flowering head will be over a foot tall! And by the looks of it, it's about to start flowering now. So now I need advice on how to collect it's seeds...

And I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad - But I noticed today that from the bottom it has started sprouting another flowering head.

Thanks Waretrop! I just looked at it now, and it's started to flower - I'm so excited, (for the seeds that I'll eventually get)!!! :D

Beautiful plants! I have a hybrid pitcher plant called N. Marpessa (N. Maxima x northiana) It's put on quite a few pitchers since I bought it April of 2013. I've since repotted it to a larger pot. It does require a great deal of humidity so I leave a tray underneath with water. Here's a few pictures. Some older, some new.

Yup! All carnivorous plants are so beautiful and interesting... For example, here is a very interesting picture that I took just now - It shows the remains of a fly, after the Venus Flytrap was done eating it...

And here is it's flowering head. I still don't know how long will it take for it to give me seeds...

And this here is my pitcher plant, which too is doing very well! It seems to like my hot and humid weather conditions. And this really is very good at catching insects on it's own. It is also producing new leaves every 3 to 4 day!!! :D
